Dr Gautam Bandyopadhyay

A prolific writer and broadcaster, Dr Bandyopadhyay has headed the Department of Psychiatry, R.G.Kar Medical College & Hospital and is currently working as a Professor of the Department of Psychiatry, North Bengal Medical College & Hospital. He takes the responsibility of all publications of DANA and he him has authored popular books on hyperactive children, Suicide, Schizophrenia and a special booklet on Girindrasekhar Bose, the founder of Psychoanalysis in India. In spite of his busy schedule, Dr Bandyopadhyay finds time to organize numerous awareness programmes on Mental Health throughout the state of West Bengal. He also edits Bengal Journal of Psychiatry and publishes "Ichhe", a unique magazine for children.

Dr. Gautam Bandyopadhyay is a professor of Psychiatry and keenly motivated to generate awareness regarding mental health among common people. For this reason he used to arrange seminars,workshops and group interactions. He has authored many books on psychological well being and problem,to name a few..CHHOTPHOTEY , a book on ADHD...BOYOSHKAALE MONER OSUKH,book on geriatric mental health; PROSONGO NESHA,subjecing substance dependence,are very popular. Dr.Bandyopadhyay is a founder member of DANA.
