Remembering Chandi Lahiri

Eminent cartoonist Chandi Lahiri passed away recently in Kolkata. He was extremely close to DANA and illustrated all its publications during more than 15 years. DANA released a special newsletter and organised a commemorative ptogramme on Chandi Lahiri on 11th February 2018 at 5 pm before an invited audiencehandi Lahiri’s was amongst many who remembered ‘Chandida’ on this occassion.

Silpo jakhon mon sarai – Programme on Art Therapy

DANA organised an invited audience programme on Art Therapy on 24th October at Abanindra Sabhaghar. Dr Debasish Bhattacharya spoke on the positive effect of Art on Mental Health. Dr Barun Kumar Chakraborty discussed elaborately on Folk Art and Folk Artists of Bengal. Debdutta Gupta, Art Historian made a audio visual presentation on Abanindranath’s experiment with Art related to Happiness.

Programme on Mental Health Day

World Mental Health Day was observed at DANA on 10th October 2017 through a special book fair on mental health and 2 interactive programmes on Parenting and Mental Health at Work Place (this year’s theme). The speakers were Dr Sayandip Ghosh, Tarun Dutta, Subhra Banerjee Pal, Dr Suddhendu Chakraborty, Dr Gautam Bandyopathyay and Dr Amit Chakraborty. Books from various organizations on mind and mental health were displayed and sold.
